📸 Capture the magic of your Disney vacation without ever pulling out your phone!
From stunning castle shots to thrilling ride photos and surprise appearances by Tinker Bell, Disney’s Memory Maker allows you to soak in the magic while Disney’s photographers handle the pictures. Whether you’re heading to Walt Disney World for the first time or planning your fifth magical getaway, Memory Maker is one add-on you should really consider. But what is Disney Memory Maker, exactly? And is it worth the hype and cost? Let’s break it all down!
What Is Disney’s Memory Maker?
Well, Disney’s Memory Maker is a photo package that gives you unlimited access to all your digital photos taken by Disney PhotoPass photographers throughout Walt Disney World Resort.
With this package, you can download:
- Professional Park Photos
- Ride and attraction photos/videos
- Character meet-and-greet shots
- Magic extras like Magic Shots (like me and Kevin 🥰)
💡 Memory Maker vs Disney PhotoPass
PhotoPass is a free service where the photographers actually take your photo. Whereas, Memory Maker is the paid upgrade that gives you unlimited downloads of these photos!

What’s Included with Memory Maker?

How Much Does Memory Maker Cost?
- 3+ Days in Advance: $185
- Same-Day Purchase: $210
- One-Day Option: $75
It is also offered as an add-on to your Annual Pass for $99 for the year! So if you plan to buy even a few photos, it quickly becomes a cost savings!
How to Use It in the Parks
Using it in the parks is super simple! Make sure it is linked to your MyDisneyExperience account. Also, look for PhotoPass photographers everywhere! After you take the photos, have the photographer scan your MagicBand or park ticket. Typically, it takes 5-10 minutes for the photos to appear, and then you can download them!
Pros and Cons of Memory Maker
Pros
- Professional Photo Quality
- Unlimited Downloads
- Includes ride photos and videos
- Great value for groups or longer trips
Cons
- May not be worth it for short trips
- Doesn’t include physical prints
For me, the inclusion of the ride photos makes it so worth it! Also, I always love looking at and laughing at my ride photos, but I never want to pay for them individually. That is a huge pro for me!
Tips for Making the Most of Memory Maker
- Seek out Magic Shots – each photo pass photographer has different options, so take advantage!
- Ask for creative poses – most photographers love to give you pose ideas!
- Time your character meets
- Dress for the camera!
- Don’t forget nighttime shots! The lantern shots for Tangled in Magic Kingdom are some of my favorites
Is It Worth It?
As usual, this is a very personal decision. For families going on longer trips, absolutely. You can get some amazing family photos this way. To my other solo travelers, consider the one-day option to get lots of photos! I take solo photos all the time, and the photographers are so nice and helpful with poses. For Annual Passholders? No question, it is 100% worth it as an add-on.
